Minutes of the meeting Tuesday 19th December 2023.   7.35pm

Present:        Richard Johnson, Alan Pywell, John Johnson, Ian Metcalfe,

Karen Sweeny, Peter Griffiths

A meeting was held at Morcott House Farm to interview Peter Griffiths to fulfil the role of clerk.

Peter who is well known to the Parish Council as he has been helping the PC during the past year with its IT problems and has attended all the meetings during the year.

Peter has applied to fill the role of Clerk to the Parish Council, he has forwarded an CV which has been distributed to the councillors, he is clearly a very capable person.

It was unanimously agreed to appoint Peter.

Salary:           £1,000 per annum as a self employed person.

(Since the meeting I have looked at Julie’s salary and it was raised from £1,000 to £1,200 per annum. I propose that this is added to the agenda for the next meeting to be corrected. Richard )

LALC:              Proposed by Richard and seconded by John that we rejoin LALC,

                        this was unanimously approved.

Passwords:  It has become very apparent that with the recent changes of clerks that we as a Parish Council need to have a list of passwords so that we aren’t left in a position of being unable to access our various accounts.

Emails:          We currently have three Parish Council email addresses, which has meant that various individuals and organisations have been unable to contact us.

Peter is going to look at the options as to whether to redirect the emails to our new email address or to close the old email addresses.

Finance:        It was agreed that we continue to use the cheque book with two signatories who are both councillors. We need to confirm with Lloyds bank who is currently a signatory.

It was agreed that no two people from the same family can sign a cheque.

It was agreed that no one can sign a cheque that is made out to themselves.

Precept:       The precept application has to be completed and returned to NKDC by the 26th January 2024. It was unanimously agreed to apply for the maximum precept available to the parish, usually rounded down to an even amount.

The meeting closed at 8.30pm
