Minutes of the Meeting of Scredington Parish Council Monday 20th May 2024
Present:
Councillors R. Johnson (Chairman), A. Pywell (Vice Chairman), I. Metcalfe, J. Johnson, K. Sweeney and P.D.Griffiths (Clerk).
Also in attendance were District Cllr R. Jackson and County Cllr A Haguess.
Nomination for Cllr R. Johnson to remain as Chairman was proposed by Cllr J. Johnson and seconded by Cllr A. Pywell. All Cllrs in favour and Cllr R. Johnson accepted the office.
Nomination for Cllr A. Pywell to remain as Vice Chairman was proposed by Cllr J. Johnson and seconded by Cllr I Metcalfe. All Cllrs in favour and Cllr A Pywell accepted the office.
1.3 Scredington Relief in Need Representative
Cllr R. Johnson - Proposed by Cllr I. Metcalfe and seconded by Cllr J. Johnson.
1.4 Church Representative
Cllr A. Pywell - Proposed by Cllr R. Johnson and seconded by Cllr J. Johnson.
1.5 Community Centre Representaitve

1.6 Election of Responsible Finance Officer
Peter Griffiths was nominated by Cllr R. Johnson and seconded by Cllr I. Pywell. All Cllrs in favour and Peter Griffiths accepted the office.
- Completion of GDPR Compliance
At the request of the clerk, this was postponed until the next meeting.
3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the Parish Council Meeting of 19 December 2023 were signed as a true and correct record.
- The finance report was given by Cllr R. Johnson; the bank balance stands at £65,510.
The Parish Council continues to support the Community Centre.
4.2 There was a discusson on the fixed assets owned by the Council..
4.3 Insurance is in place and runs from 30th March
4.4 Payments to be made at the meeting were approved
P.D.Griffiths for severs as clerk for 6 months £500.00
- Review of Parish Council Policies and Standing Orders
There are now a series of policies and standing procedures on the Parish Council website.
There were no planning issues to discuss.

- Other Village Matters
- There was a discussion about installing a bin for dog mess at the end of the footpath to Northbeck. Cllr R. Johnson agreed to investigate this. It was agreed to replace the bus-stop bin with a complete new one.
- Play Equipment – it was proposed by Cllr R. Johnson and seconded by Cllr I. Metcalfe that the council should buy new play equipment, membrane, edging, topsoil, bark, etc and install. Total cost is expected to be in the range £18,000 to £20,000. All Cllrs were in favour.
- Anglia Water and Reservoir – it was noted that a further consultation begins on 30th May 2024.

All meetings to commence at 7:30pm
The meeting closed at 8:45pm.
