The Community Centre continues to provide a valuable asset to the village, run by volunteers and mainly funded by bookings taken from the NHS and local County Council, for seminars, meetings and therapy sessions. These bookings have declined quite dramatically over the last year and our financial situation is less certain than in previous years.

Private bookings have increased a little, possibly due to the work put in to the Community Centre website and Facebook page. Sleaford Striders continue to use us as their venue for a 5k and fun run in August.

At the AGM in April, Jean Gandy resigned from the committee whilst all of the other members chose to carry on in their current roles. Steve Mason continues as the chairman. Events organised by the committee include a Christmas party night, Scredfest and quiz night. All have been well attended. Scredfest is due to take plaie again on Saturday 25'h May.

The monthly Friday night social continues to be very well attended. Darts night is presently having a break, although David Atkinson has a plan to add table tennis and board games into the Wednesday night mix. Steve Thomas is trying to set up a veteran's football club for over 35's, which would be based at the Comnrunity Centre.

We continue with the upkeep of the centre and try to make improvements as we go along, when funds allow. The Community Centre have recently commissioned a RoSPA playground inspection as per the new requirements of our insurance company. There is quite a lot of remedial work to be carried out on the layground to bring it up to standard, although nothing which is described as being ahazard. The required work looks like it will be costly and time consuming.

The Committee would like to thank the Parish Council for their continued financial support for the upkeep of the village playing field. Rick Webster, who cuts the field has increased his charge per cut and perhaps, therefore, the Parish Council might consider increasing the amount provided, although we are very grateful for the help currently given.
